At this two hour workshop, children with help from an adult will create a miniature dwelling place for fairies and garden gnomes. All supplies will be provided.
The book Locally Laid by Lucie B. Amundsen was chosen for this year’s Wabasha Reads book. Locally Laid is a true adventure story about Lucie and her husband Jason who start a commerical -scale, pasture-raised egg farm in Wrenshall, MN. Lucie will be at the Library on Friday, May 17th at 10:30 a.m. to share her humorous egg farm beginnings and a painless lesson in America’s food system.
Prior to Lucie’s presentation beginning at 9:30 a.m. , Julie Jacobs a registered dietician from St. Elizabeth’s will clear up the confusion regarding eggs and heart health. She will also talk about the many benefits of eating local foods, give information about the upcoming Farmers Market season and give shopping tips to help you shop wisely and healthfully. Door prizes and refreshments will be provided.
