Local author Gloria Smit says, “The truth with a twist is funnier than fiction.” That’s her writing philosophy. Aspiring to be a humorist, Gloria began crafting mostly true five-minute vignettes for open-mic sessions at the Rural American Writer’s Center in Plainview, MN. She spins experiences from her life on a Mississippi River bluff as a farmer, a wife, a mother, and a nurse into tales intended to make people laugh. She has also, over the past 20 years, composed more serious work. Gloria lives with her husband, Jim, a dog, two cats and a handful of Icelandic sheep near Nelson, WI. The presentation will consist of reading a few of the stories, question and answers about the book and the writing/publishing process, and book signing.
Everyone is welcome to this free presentation. Refreshments will be available.
