In collaboration with the Wabasha Public Library, the Wabasha County Historical Society will be hosting Minnesota Author Teresa Wilhelm Waldof on Sunday, May 19th, at 2:30 pm at the Reads Landing Schoolhouse Museum. Waldof is the author of the book, Wilhelm’s Way: The Inspiring Story of the Iowa Chemist Who Saved the Manhattan Project, in which she shares the untold story of the top-secret work on the Manhattan Project in Iowa. Chemist Harley Wilhelm and his team at Iowa State University secretly manufactured millions of pounds of pure uranium for the atomic bombs that ended World War II. This is the first-ever published account of the breakthrough chemistry needed to prove a controlled self-sustained nuclear reaction was possible.

This program is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be available.  Teresa will have books available for purchase.
